All we had to do on Saturday was empty our freezer of tamales -plus make some orders of guacamole and chips to offload our supply of avocados. We ran out our food supply on Friday and, again, confirmed my fears, by ringing up another record low in sales. I had already let go of an employee, told a new hire not to come in and announced our closing. We had every intention of closing after the governorÕs orderÕs to close everything but essential businesses in the state came down and the next day we rang up only $100 in sales. It's been a rough time for restaurants, but so heartwarming to see all our customers support us with take-out orders or even just gift cards that they can use later on when things go back to normal. The local community has been beyond supportive of our endeavors, especially our new Family Meal option, which allows customers to order a meal for four via e-mail a day ahead and pick up at a time they've specified. When you arrive outside in your car, you give us a call, and we run the food to you curbside - masked and gloved, of course! Pickup is contactless, so there's no need to give up your favorite Mellow Bird, Sun-Kissed Quinoa Salad, or Avocado Boats. We started dinner meals, we know deliver smaller orders than previously. In order to try and keep four of my employees working we put a walk up take out window on the side of our business. We obviously have dropped down to zero on that. Spoons did about %20 of our business in catering. Then, I could hear the manager yelling at and disrespecting me so I asked for her name and was hung up on. I refused saying that I'd already came through and was waiting in the lot. Total unprofessionalism! Staff yelled to the female manager who yelled back for me to call back in 5min. 6:13PM - I call about my order & ask to speak to the manager (doors were locked). 6 - 6:07PM - I sit with 2 other cars waiting and watch a white female staff come out to smoke out back, 1 staff leave and 3 more staff arrive for work. 5:45PM - Order taken, I paid & was told to pull around into their parking lot to wait. Disgusting!! Never again! 7/7/21 at 5:38PM - Got into the drive-thru line. I was wrong! 10pc thighs & drumsticks and the thighs looked like this! Not to mention the inch of grease in the bottom of the bucket and seeping through it. Thought to myself that it might be a better experience. Update 8/16/21: Was in the area and in a pinch when my family requested KFC.
